In a world where scientists got too careless and accidentally created frankensteins that were more powerful than humanity, the frankensteins have taken over. What humans remain have to eke out a on the fringes of their destroyed cities, their numbers ever dwindling as they are used as parts by industrious frankensteins who want to create even more of their kind.

But apart from those poor handfuls of humans that dot the landscape, what else is out there?

Gumbo

Gumbo is a representative of the “everyman” of the frankensteins. Though he hates humans obviously, he doesn’t go out of his way to hunt them down or conquer the world or anything. He’s happy just living in Frankenstopolis and helping to create the society that will rise on the ashes of humanity.

Griffinstein

When the Gravedoctor tried to study the magic that exists in the world, he found a means to create a great champion of frankenkind. By killing a human who was cursed to be a were-lion and another who was a were-eagle, the Gravedoctor sewed their corpses together to create Griffinstein. The magnificent beast is now the Gravedoctor’s chief agent and protector.

Naturally, since the talons of the were-eagle were the feet of the cursed human, if the Griffinstein is turned to a human form, it’s got legs coming from its shoulders and arms hanging from its back. It’s less impressive that way.

Halfwitch

With the success of the Griffinstein, the Gravedoctor sought more study of magics. To that end, he took the bodies of some skilled witches who might have a natural talent he could exploit. But to keep the result controllable, the Gravedoctor combined the witches with some complete idiots. The result is half witch, half halfwit. The Halfwitch works with the Gravedoctor, but she does indeed resent her subservience and intends to betray him. Still, she is an idiot.

Considerabot

It might seem like one lesson to be learned from the Frankenstein Apocalypse is that science is dangerous. While that can be true, we have to remember that science has its upsides as well. One upside is Considerabot, the considerable robot. Created by a team of scientists to oppose the frankensteins, Considerabot wages a war against the reanimated-corpse usurpers of Earth and tries to protect humanity.

The Mummy Eater

A mystic who gained great power by devouring mummies, the Mummy Eater is not at all happy that the frankensteins have overthrown the world and ruined his plans. With mummies now considerably harder to come by, the Mummy Eater has to wage war on the frankensteins, not out of love of his fellow humans, but solely out of his own self-interest.

Hey, we’re nearing the end of this year, and I think we can finally stop doing new alien species every week. So today I’ll throw everything I have left at the Super Sunday. It’s some new species, some revisited old species, and even some Superfluous Sunday expansion of detail for existing characters. I’m just going to burn through the remaining alien character sketches that I haven’t used and that will be that.

Nuffn

Nuffn is a Hk’Lennsr, from a strange dimension of different physical characteristics. Nuffin’s progenitors were killed in an accident and now Nuffn devotes all their time to preventing other such accidents from occurring. It’s a noble cause, but Nuffn’s friends are getting sick of hearing about it.

Glpbb

Glpbb is a Pllvm who was once insulted by Little Choy. After that incident, he did not have the nerve to go back to school and instead got a job at an advertising company on a colony world. Maybe his life is better? It’s different at least.

Planet Sleck

Sleck is and entire planet. Or, at least, the primordial ooze that has come to live on this world, which has gained intelligence and a strong hive-mind capability. So while it may just be slime or gunk, it covers the entire surface of its planet with one mind. It knows how to manipulate its weather to take in sunlight when it needs it, and obscure it when it doesn’t. It has yet to encounter any life beyond itself, but it is smart and might be able to find a way to communicate if it ever did.
Universe: Grey

Perritayn

Perritayn is a Strondovarian who works on the species’s most enormous undertaking, the creation of a new planet. Perritayn’s job is somewhere between security guard and exterminator, being to prevent the spread of unwanted lifeforms on the artificial world.

Lartopo

Lartopo is the sidekick of the Universe Wizard called Goolo. Lartopo doesn’t have any magical powers, but is pretty good at dealing with people, which is helpful in the quest to repair the damage done by evil Universe Wizards, since a lot of planets are now very untrustworthy of magic in general. Lartopo considers Goolo a good friend, but apart from that is along for the quest just for the fun of it.

Thul General

Given no name as we would understand it, the Thul General is merely a general in the Thul army. The Thul army is that which serves the powerful cosmic entity known as Thul’Hamaya (the same being the Efmon family worships as Thalamaya). As is typical of such beings, the Thul General hates any beings that don’t worship Thul’Hamaya and wants their complete destruction. Leading an army of thousands, the General prepares from the next war, in whichever universe that may take place.

Oppressar

The cosmically-powered tyrant called Oppressar is the powerful ruler of the Bronze Zone and cares about little else than making sure those beneath him suffer tremendously. He has vast armies serving his every whim (including the human Dr. Zarkad), but he is not unopposed in his rule, however. His former servant Bludgeonak leads a resistance force. Oppressar doesn’t mind the opposition, though, as it gives him an excuse to engage in ever more cruel methods of oppression.

Buttsy

Buttsy is a member of a species whose name we can’t pronounce because it requires two mouths. Buttsy works for the Space Alliance of Piano Repairers, but is actually a double agent trying to bring them down from the inside.

And I think that’s enough for today. Expanding my fictional multiverse by exploring alien species has been fun for me, but I think now that I’ve got so much breadth to work in, it is time to start filling things in. Aliens will turn up again, of course, but from now on, let us check out some smaller-scale ideas.

As a general rule to myself over the course of my years of alien creating, I wanted to keep the alien species I created on a level playing field. The general idea was that they were aliens who would be peers with humanity. But today, I’m going to do aliens that are far beyond our level.

In ancient times when the universes were young, powerful beings came to life beyond them and watched as they grew. One of those beings, now called Thalamaya, saw opportunity in conquering these universe to gain power enough to destroy the other beings and rule all of existence. A cosmic battle was waged, universes were shattered, powerful entities died, but Thalamaya’s plans were slowed, if not stopped. The following beings were enemies of Thalamaya that were banished into physical universes as a punishment for their opposition.

Ynjellek

Ynjellek was the being that saw the threat of Thalamaya and united other beings to fight back. When banished to a physical universe, the entity saw all the beings living within and took a liking to them. Devoting itself to protecting the physical lifeforms from various threats from beyond, Ynjellek soon realized that the more power is expended, the more it became a physical entity and lost its powers. Even knowing this, Ynjellek continued to do good deeds until it was weak enough for some Earth-based criminals to capture it. It then played a role in the origin of a superhero called the Noblewoman.

Diashash

Embarrassed by being defeated by Thalamaya and banished to physical realms, Diashash want nothing more than revenge. In the universe where Diashash is now trapped, it does nothing more than try to gain power, often by possessing living beings and creating mystical cults. Just to make things worse for the universe, Diashash’s powers work strongest on the recently deceased, so raising the dead as possessed cultists is a standard tactic. The ultimate goal is to break free, even if it means shattering the universe.

Airlasai

This being, when banished to physical realms, wound up in the fantasy universe that was home to the Efmons. Unfortunately, this was one of Thalamaya’s strongest beachhead in physical realms. Airlasai, being made up of otherworldly energies, was able to bring magic to the fantasy realm and empower all manner of wizards and mages in the hopes that they would fight Thalamaya’s forces. And while that did actually work out in the long run, long before the battle that banished the Efmons, the denizens of the fantasy realm turned on Airlasai and captured the being, hoping to drain even more power. And there, magically captured in a specially created mountain, Airlasai remains to this day.

Wahered

Wahered is a mystical being that resembles a cluster of wormholes and can travel from place to place in an instant. Thus, being banished to physical reality is not so limiting. Since the war, Wahered has become less interested in fighting Thalamaya and now is more invested in satisfying its own curiosity about the universe than anything else. Wahered’s presence has been noted by the Pllvmoids, who were inspired toward their own research into wormholes.

Rathuss

Rathuss, being more suited to physical reality than some of the others, was less disoriented when banished there. But uncertain what to do, Rathuss decided to simply go to sleep in outer space. Over the centuries, dust and ice and stuff have accumulated on the entity’s form and it now resembles a small moon. It’s true nature unknown to any who might stumble across it, who could say what would happen if some astronauts happened to land there. Perhaps only time will tell.

Creshmll

Creshmll was an adaptable entity and took to physical reality by becoming more physical. Sadly, this made the entity more susceptible to physical threats and, indeed, the threats succeeded in ending the existence of Creshmll. Still, the “shell of bright” that the being evolved to fight its enemies has been adapted to armour for the likes of Dayguard and thus Creshmll continues the fight against evil.
