This is C.W.

Shooting Time has just finished.

This is C.W. He is a soldier in the Space Army. He appears to have some kind of eye-stalk in a jar for a head. He is a shapechanger, but tends to forget that because he prefers to solve his problems with shooting. I invented him back in Junior High. He appears now for the first time in color.

I present this drawing as my first attempt at working on a Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet Drawing Machine. It allows me to draw right on the computer without hassle like scanning getting in my way. And I don’t seem to draw a whole lot worse than I do on paper. When I get more practice and if I took more time I bet I could even draw pretty acceptably. Time will tell, I suppose.

(The background was not drawn by hand. I just whipped that up quick so it wouldn’t look so empty. As for why the cacti are so close to the horizon? I’m going to assume there is a cliff right there. Yeah.)

Comics!

Since I know that the odds of Contains2 ever being fully up and running again are pretty low, I have begun putting up a Comics section here on this site which can now be reached from above. I am in the process of making sure all my old material is here, but I’m taking my time so we can expect it to be pretty ugly for a while yet.

But I will also finally be creating new comics. That might sound unlikely at first given the track record I have for actual work on this site lately, but I have managed to make a new level for my Adventure Dennis comic, all of which can be seen here.

More new things shall follow.

I probably would have worn it in ’63 too.

I totally wore a Dead Kennedys shirt yesterday. You know, because I wasn’t thinking… Not that anyone noticed or even probably would have cared. But the coincidence is amusing to me.

Haiku!

Damn the post office!
They lost the thing I ordered.
They lost my cannon.

I have not actually ordered a cannon and it has not been lost.

Worth mentioning is that Marq and I went to see Inglourious Basterds on Monday. It was quite good. That’s all I’ve got for now.

It’s Full Of Stars…

So today was a hurricane hitting us day here in Halifax. It didn’t really amount to much of anything more than a typical storm as far as I could see. I went out for a couple of walks, one during the hurricane day and one after at night. I got soaked during the first one (which is of course the point of going for a walk in a hurricane). The second was just about as clement as weather can get. I like rain, but I’d still consider the second walk superior because of all the stars showing through.

The hurricane was named Bill. Every day of work in the few days leading up to the weekend had an article talking about Hurricane Bill and my mind always, just for a second assumed it was about how we’d be paying for the hurricane. Stupid mind.

Haiku!

If Vikings are here,
Who’s to say there ain’t Baboons?
Those types both hang out.

My ability to recognize constellations seems to be kaput. I can find Orion when he’s around (I don’t think he is at the moment) and occasionally I think I can find a Dipper, but that’s it. No wonder I haven’t been accepted into Awesome Space Guy School yet.

Reunited.

I have it on the good authority of people I trust that I once attended and graduated from something called High School. It doesn’t sound like something I would do, but I suppose people would know better than I do. So anyway, tomorrow is the reunion for people who graduated this strange place. while plenty of people are not going to be showing up because they live other places, or they have no interest or maybe they died of AIDs while robbing a liquor store, but I will be attending this thing.

The strange thing is, though, that apparently this gathering is just a bunch of people from the school going to some bars and drinking. On television and movies school reunions are always ceremonies in gymnasiums and people get awards for travelling the least distance to get there (or at least Homer Simpson did) but this is just a bar. Oh well. I guess if I want a classier more television-style reunion, I should go to school in television. I shall have to work on that.
