Phone Guys: Relaunch!

In October of 2005 the Contains2 website brought the world the Phone Guys, a webcomic meant to revolutionize the world. But it failed, sadly. Only nine strips were made before Contains2 died and, well, they were pretty stupid. The punchlines barely qualify as “jokes” and the art is static and crummy.

BUT THEN CAME 2010!

I’m relaunching the Phone Guys! New art! New phones! New cast members! This relaunch will totally revitalize the Internet!

But the punchlines will still barely qualify as jokes.

So anyway, in fulfilling my promise to get a new comic up every Monday, I have spent the last few weeks creating FIFTY-TWO strips for the Phone Guys Call Again. I’ll be using these as my fallback any week that I don’t get something else made. That means even if I don’t get anything else done for a year, I’ve got a year of stupid strips! Now there’s a buffer a PDR can work with.

Hey! It’s Adventure Dennis ON THE INTERNET!

Adventure Dennis drawing. Granted, he was on the Internet before, but now he is also available as a torrent on Demonoid. Since that story is about the only complete thing I’ve finished and put online, I thought it would be good to get it out somewhere where someone might actually accidentally read it.

Paradoxically, I hope it doesn’t accidentally lead people to know I exist because then I might feel bad when I don’t make more things…

Updated: I guess it is a full on Adventure Dennis day over here. Inspired by the upload I whipped up a quick drawing of Adventure Dennis himself in a different style which can be seen to the left there.

Furthermore, Marq has given a high-tech upgrade to the Adventure Dennis comic page and it is now like seventy-seven times more awesome than it was when it was just a whole bunch of pictures one after the other. It actually seems way too spiffy to be on this website, but I’ll take it!

And I’ve uploaded two Adventure Dennis desktop wallpapers. One is from back in the Contains2 days and is 1024×768 and another is newer and 1366×768.

Duck Team Sleep!

Hey! Listen! I have just read in National Geographic that when Mallards sleep in a row, the ones on the end keep half of their brains awake to watch out for predators (here’s a link I found on Google about it). I consider this to be Way Awesome! They are sleeping as a team!

As Marq has just pointed out, it would be really unfair if they don’t take turns. If the two ducks on the ends are always the same two guys, well they’re just gonna be unhappy fellows.

This also goes a way to explaining how on Duck Tales when Huey, Dewey and Louie were sleeping one would inhale, another would exhale and the last would say “wakk, wakk.” Those guys were also team sleeping.

Ducks, man. Those guys are all right.

In other news, a few days back I updated my list of DVDs for the first time in like four years. Now the people will know DVDs were here.

OH HEY! Listen again! I totally just decided to add a picture of some ducks after posting the stuff up there, so I went into my Contains2 archives and searched for ducks. Along with this one tiny picture, I also found this post by a fellow named PDR from Tuesday 15 November 2005.

“Ducks have all sorts of magical prowess. They can fly and swim, which is like being an otter and a magic carpet combined. Also they have bills, kinda like a platypus or one of those dinosaurs that had bills. In fact, I’m going to assume that ducks are a combination of all animals. It seems the only logical explanation.”

Still holds up.

Be nice to your robots!

According to something I wrote on Conains2 several years ago March 25 is International Robot Day. Since nobody has contradicted me since then, I take that as proof that it is true. Sort of like how since nobody official has contradicted that Patrick D Ryall is a nation, I know that that is true.

So that means that Patrick D Ryall will be celebrating International Robot Day in just a few weeks! Who else is excited? I bet you all are.

Haiku!

Behold the Trumpet!
It can bring forth sounds of joy!
But it won’t. It won’t.

I will try to write a story for International Robot Day, I think. We could all use more stories for International Robot Day…

Weekend of Naps.

For me, this has been a weekend of naps. While this is enjoyable on occasion, I hope I don’t make a habit of it. Still, I had me some good naps.

Haiku!

Love the letter T.
Without it, where would we be?
Also, love your legs.

Amid naps I got a new level of Adventure Dennis up, though. So that’s cool. And I see no reason I won’t find some old Contains2 story and put that up later tonight.

Also, I get the impression that Geocities is supposed to be dead by this point, as I spoke of in the past. I still seem to be able to reach the ol’ AWBC, though. The suspense is literally making me wonder when it is going to die for real.
