Stagnant Government Robots

Okay, “stagnant” is not the ideal word choice, but the SecGov strip has reached a kind of status quo right now. I’ll sum it up here:

The Secret Government, a political entity staffed almost entirely by robots, has declared war with their ancient enemy the Beekeepers. The SecGov Defense Department blames the Beekeepers for several attacks which were, in fact, unrelated, or even accidents, but upon learning this has decided to stick to the war for the boost it is giving the SecGov economy. To date the Beekeeper Elders have not even acknowledged the war.

One SecGov bodyguard robot, Gladys Blue, has been training with an infamous super-assassin Jason Dante, in the hopes of learning more about the Secret Government, but is having trouble making the secret meetings with the city readying for war. Meanwhile, a SecGov army soldier, Zeke Purple, has killed an extradimensional entity with his mind and is now gaining the vast powers of that being and becoming the Army’s top weapon. But how much is his personality changing as these powers grow?

I think that covers most of the basics.

So we’re sitting here with that as the state of things, and now I’m getting a bit too busy to keep up the pace of three pages a week, so I’ll be scaling back down to two. The last few pages have also been standalones a trend that may continue for a while, though I do have plans for so many more stories.

You can blame homework for this.

Technical Difficulties, Please Stand By…

Hi, this is Marq here. Pat asked me to throw up a SecGov Single that I did up using my brand new drawing tablet (at the time), only now that I’ve procrastinated and decided I could find it the night before WHILE AT WORK (the paying job, that is), seems I cannot locate it. BUT, here is a preview of the first panel without word balloons:

Another Cyril Thing

Don’t you just love those eye-gougingly garish colours?! I guess I’ll have to throw the comic up when I get home. Sorry for the delay, every(three)body. Alright, Marq out.

Camels for all!

Okay, so, over on the Secret Government Robots I am starting a four page story today. Here’s the thing, though. This story was actually made a long time ago, like, before I started doing the 22-page stories that have become the norm. I’ve had a couple pages that were similarly done at work with MS Paint on boring nights, but this story was made before any of them. I was saving it in case I ever needed to whip out a few pages because of missed deadlines or whatever, but that time hasn’t come yet. Instead I am using it up because it works in the current spot of the story, and I just got sick of having it around. So, anyway, this is my justification for how simple it is, at any rate.

Haiku!

I won a camel.
You also won a camel.
We all win camels.

Anyway, they’re doing a preventative spray for bedbugs in my building today, which is okay, I guess, I mean, I haven’t had bedbugs yet and I think I’d prefer to stay that way. But it also means I have to be awake at the wrong time of day, and spend four hours out of the apartment where there is sunlight and people, some of my least favorite things. And to make matters worse, I thought it was yesterday that this was happening. I spent four hours outside in the daytime yesterday and now I have to do it again today? There is no justice in the world.

Steppin’ It Up

Now obviously there isn’t anyone who camps out at the website waiting for the newest page of Secret Government Robots to happen, but for posterity if nothing else I feel like I should announce that starting today SecGov will be updating on Saturdays as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays. I’m hoping I can hold that pace up for a while anyway. It’ll help me get through the stories a bit quicker, which I’d really like.

Bits of Stuff

Okay, I can’t really think of anything to talk about today, so I’ll just say what’s going on. Marq has added a dropdown menu to the sidebar there (—> There) that will let one navigate through the various Secret Government Robot story arcs. That will help anyone who actually has cause to look through the stories.

In related news, later this month I plan on adding SecGov updates to Saturdays. I’m currently just ahead of schedule enough to delude myself into thinking that this’ll work. It’ll probably be rough at first, but it will allow me to get through the stories that much quicker. I would be doing a page a day if I could keep up with the pace.

Haiku!

The sun sets on Mars.
The Martians watch with delight.
Nothing else to do.

Anyway, as I said, I don’t have much else to say. I’ve got five minutes until I have to start getting ready for work… Gotta think of something to say… uh… Giant Enormous Face Eats The Train And Dies!

So… That’s what I said. Can’t take it back now. And I gotta go.
