The Wrong One!

So, one of the local newspapers recently went very suddenly out of business. The only problem is that it wasn’t the one I work for. I feel like the wrong one was slain. Not only was the tabloid format of that other paper easier to read, but I have seen plenty of reasons to dislike the character of the company that I work for that I truly would take joy in their downfall. And the worst part is that I just bet that the upper management of my company are telling themselves that they put the other paper out of business in spite of the fact that they seem to be running a company based on embezzling, pettiness, nepotism and ignorance. At least I can take some comfort in the fact that I’ve been telling people how the newspaper industry is obsolete for some time now.

And so, last night we had to run over five thousand more papers than before. That’s just what I wanted More customers. The fact that this will all temporarily boost my company really makes me hate it that much more.

Plus people lost their jobs, so I guess they have it worse than me.

Snow is an Idiot.

Another reason for me to dislike the Wintertime: I just had to wait over two hours for my cab home from work. From WORK. The place I least want to spend time. You see? This snow stuff is an idiot.

Now I go to sleep.

Mid-December

Uh… Let’s see…

I guess that I am happy that I had an extra day off this weekend. Granted I will have an extra day of work this week as well, but I’ll complain about that when the time comes.

In other news, I am fairly certain that I have become a conductor for alien transmissions to be sent to the planet Planet Earth. This explains why I always make noises vocally. This is the only explanation. It is interesting to note that the aliens speak fluent English and generally don’t have anything to say beyond what I was going to say anyway. But it is still an honor to be so vital to human history.

And finally I must begrudge the fact we have so much more snow than we did at this time than last year. As a noted fan of not-snow, I will consider this my official complaint for the time being. The snow does act as a reminder that I need some new shoes, though.

Hurricaned.

So there’s a big storm totally happening to Halifax right now. I’m not certain whether it is still classified as a hurricane or not, but I thought I’d take a wander out in it to see how it was. Not too great. Much colder than I like my hurricanes to be. I remember the last big one we got totally being enjoyable to be out in. I also remember having a social life in those days. Kinda sad.

Haiku!

Come, oh hurricane!
Come and blow your mighty wind.
Wind so strong. It blows.

In other news, I have taken Monday night off for no reason other than having a day off. It’s gonna be sweet, I assume.

Halloween Is Now.

Three years ago, I would have been worried about how many things I could be writing for Halloween at this time of the year. Five years ago, I actually would have a bunch of stuff written. This year, I’m about to go to work. Haven’t written anything Halloween related (or not) in far too long. Sucks to be me.

But this is still my favorite holiday. Happy Halloween.
