So there’s a big storm totally happening to Halifax right now. I’m not certain whether it is still classified as a hurricane or not, but I thought I’d take a wander out in it to see how it was. Not too great. Much colder than I like my hurricanes to be. I remember the last big one we got totally being enjoyable to be out in. I also remember having a social life in those days. Kinda sad.
Haiku!
Come, oh hurricane!
Come and blow your mighty wind.
Wind so strong. It blows.
In other news, I have taken Monday night off for no reason other than having a day off. It’s gonna be sweet, I assume.
Three years ago, I would have been worried about how many things I could be writing for Halloween at this time of the year. Five years ago, I actually would have a bunch of stuff written. This year, I’m about to go to work. Haven’t written anything Halloween related (or not) in far too long. Sucks to be me.
But this is still my favorite holiday. Happy Halloween.
I just spent a week without the Internet, which sucked, of course, but it was better than that too recent time when I had not computer at all.
But now I’m back and I will murder the world with electricity. No, that’s not the one. No, what I meant was I will do a haiku.
Haiku!
Molten Lava Man.
He has the power of flight.
But lava can’t fly…
I don’t know if there has ever actually been a Molten Lava Man. I don’t care. That is all for now.
Stupid thing that PDR does too often: Opening doors quickly and they smash into my toes. It isn’t a problem when I’m wearing shoes, but when I’m not it can hurt. Granted I do stuff that’s way stupider than that, but this one happens more often than those. That’s what makes those ones special.
Another stupid thing, is that I still haven’t got my sleeping schedule back on track. I think, if I were independently wealthy, I would just abandon the whole nocturnally/diurnal systems and just go to sleep when I got tired and wake up whenever I was done. It may not quite work all the time, but it would be less problematic than spending hours laying awake and trying to get to sleep, which is a great waste of a few hours.
And finally, I would like all Spanish-speaking people to say “Hijole” more often. It would please me.
I just got a wrong-number phone call on my cell in which the caller mentioned the fact that I work nights and asked me if “Mark” had called me with the news yet. Since I do work nights and I know Marq, I thought this was genuinely a call for me. It was easily the longest I’ve been on the phone for a wrong number. Strange stuff.
Anyway, I woke up late before work last night and have not yet been able to return to sleep today. And this after just righting my schedule after the last time it was messed up. I have literally wasted hours doing nothing but tossing and turning now. Sleep hates me. And I don’t care for it all that much either.
Finally, I’m thirsty. Someone bring me a glass of water.
