What Pete doesn't know is that his landlord actually died three years ago and his body is still hidden under a collapsed cabin in the woods. Nobody is even looking for him. Pete's rent payments are piling up in a bank account that nobody even uses and nobody benefits from. It sucks for everyone involved.
