Snowstormed!

Okay, it’s not really so much a snow storm as it is some snow, but I thought it best to continue the weather themed titles. But anyway, we got snow and I don’t want it there. But I’m not too upset about it yet. I mean we barely got snow last winter, so my tolerance is a little higher. But give it time. And for the record, that hurricane last week turned out to be a bit of a wuss, really. I guess some places lost power for a few hours and some more rural ones for a day or more, but the PDR went no longer than ten minutes without it. Granted it cut out when I was a minute away from the end of the movie I was watching, but that’s just a minor annoyance.

Anyway, in other news I have been playing a free trial for Star Wars Galaxies. It’s got some major flaws, but I have been able to say “omgstarwarz lol” on four different planets now, which amuses me. What doesn’t amuse me is having a character (a Jedi no less) trapped behind knee-high barriers that he cannot jump over and between openings that look larger than him, but he cannot walk through. I ended up just making another character and joining the Empire.

And before I go I want to I want to mention this so I don’t forget it. I was hanging with Kip the other day and mentioned that I had hit myself in the face with ice cream last week. He asked if anyone had been around to see it and I said that Marq was sitting next to me, but watching the television, so he didn’t see it. Kip then pointed out, and I don’t remember his exact words but something like “When I lived with you, I always kept one eye on you, because I knew you were always seconds away from doing something stupid”. That makes me happy for some reason.

Oh Sweet Internets…

Since last weekend I have been without my computer. I’ve gone that long without the Internet, but with no computer at all, it was killing me. And the fear that I had lost everything on my hard drive (which includes all manner of music/pictures/tv shows and things I’ve written dating back at least as far as ten years) made me even more upset. I’m an empty, lonely man and having no computer only made that worse.

What had happened was the mouse locked up while I was playing Counterstrike with Kip. I tried rebooting it to get it working again and it just never came back on. It would come up with a black screen with that little flashing dash where you’re supposed to type, but could not type or do anything. But when it was taken in to be looked at it came up fine for them and now as I try it again here and I haven’t lost my files. I guess that means there was nothing wrong with it beyond “It wasn’t working for a while and now it’s better.” Awesomeness. This makes me happy. I think maybe I’ll start backing stuff up on CDs maybe.

That said, I didn’t miss anything much, it would seem. Two emails and one MSN message. And 38 spam comments on this site. But still, I feel better knowing that.

In other news, tomorrow I shall be getting the last signature needed for my passport application. Soon the PDR shall be spreading his self all over the globe!

I guess that is enough for tonight. I am going to re-enter myself into the World’s Widest Web.

TFU

So… The next Star Wars game sounds like it could be fun. But I’d have to get a “next generation” console to play it (or shouldn’t it be a “current generation” console now?). The game is called Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which is of course SW:TFU for short. TFU also stands for The Fuckest Uppest as the show Spaced has taught me. Thus, I am amused.

What’s big and red and has no nose? I don’t know. A big car? A red star? Russia on some maps? Lot’s of stuff. Who cares?

I’ve finally got myself an idea for the next thing I’ll be writing all worked out. Now just to get past my self-induced weariness and get to work. Then you’ll all pay.

The Villain From Mario 2.

I’ve had this wart on my left index finger for, I’m going to say a year now. Then I saw this commercial for a wart-removal product the name of which I can’t remember or be bothered to look up. Thing is, it actually allows you to freeze the wart yourself. This seemed like technology I should not be allowed to have, so I went and got some.

So yesterday, sure enough, using chemicals I have now freezed that wart it seems, and a nice circle of my flesh to the side of it. And I have to say the flesh that was frozen kinda hurts. And it’s all puffy. Suffice it to say I’m hoping I don’t get hit by a freeze ray now.

Haiku!

Mario 2 ruled!
I may like part three better,
But Toad made 2 cool.

Why hasn’t Wart, the boss from Mario 2 shown up again? And the fact it was a dream is not an answer. In the Mushroom Kingdom that would hardly matter.

Burglar!

Apparently my roommate Marq came home last night and stumbled across a man hiding in our living room who had been in the process of stealing us. I guess the guy then left and the controls for our PS2 are missing, though the PS2 itself is still here, but unplugged. Of course, with Marq being the lazy introvert he is he isn’t willing to go to the super about this, let alone any law enforcement. The dozens of security cameras in our building, had they cognitive abilities, would weep for their very purpose being ignored. I guess that guy is just lucky that Marq caught him instead of Marq’s angry-at-the-world-roommate-with-a-superhero-fixation.

Though he was an idiot to go about unhooking the Playstation with all my DVDs Right There. But I guess that’s a good thing for me.

In other news, I had a dream last night involving quitting my job. I mean, it wasn’t the same job I had in the real world exactly, but I guess quitting is not a bad thing by any means. But then my dreams have been mostly insanse lately and my sleep fitful. Probably not a good thing.

Haiku!

Go go Mario!
Go all the way to world eight!
Beat the whole damn game!

Also, I’ve gone spendcrazy again. Lacking anything that actually makes me want to go about living, I just keep throwing money at books/DVDs/comics/toys/food or things that don’t really help my soul, but keep myself watching. Sure I may end up poor, but at least I’ll have posessions. It was about this time last year when last I went truly spendcrazy, I believe.
