I totally messed up my sleeping schedule over the last day or two and now I’m in for a really tired night on the longest shift of the week. Aren’t I just special. Damn, I hate that job.
In other news, I’m in the process of moving all my files and music and stuff from this computer to my new one. I don’t think I’ll finish today, but it’ll be sweet when I get on that new one…
Lately I’ve been getting my rides to and from work in a coworker’s car which is a Chevy nearly as old as myself. The gas gauge is stuck at halfway. Thanks to that quirk, we ended up on the side of the highway at 4:30 in the morning today, with the tank depleted. So as the owner ran off to the nearest gas station another coworker and I got to stand by the car, in which we could not find working four-way lights, and try to encourage the many fast-moving large trucks not to hit it until the sun rose enough that we could be seen. We decided that since I (as always) was wearing a big black trenchcoat, and he is foreign, that some passing car was sure to call the cops on us. Sadly, that didn’t happen, but eventually the gas arrived and we were on our way off again.
Now I might have thought that anything that kept me from getting home after work would be a bad thing, but I enjoyed that. It felt like old times, when I did stuff and stuff happened. I really wish I still had a life.
Anyway, I’m going to sleep. To any stupid young idiot kids who may accidentally turn up on this site because they were surfing the Internet for the phrase “Bird Flu is Awesome” (which I just used) my advice is this: Don’t get jobs, get lives.
Just for the record, I’ve got a Rocksteady figure now. Take that, poor African children who suffer a complete lack of Rocksteady!
But even though I do like Rocksteady, I still don’t fathom how anyone can like him better than Bebop. It just makes no sense to me at all…
Anyway, starting with tonight, I’ll only be working night shifts now. No more of this switching around twice a week that I’ve had since last year. I’m hoping this will improve my ability to do stuff.
Well, now I can say that I have watched the Star Wars Holiday Special. It’s one of those things accomplished not because it was good to do, but because it simply had to be done. Some people climb mountains…
Here’s the part where I complain about work. Usually I don’t work on Tuesdays, but today I did. And then when I went home I fell immediately asleep and woke up thinking it was the next morning and I was gonna be late for work and all that. And now I’m awake but will have to try to get a few more hours of sleep before I go to work again. On the plus side, I’m gonna go watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.
It is really very nice outside today. Way better here than in Italy, I bet. It’s probably raining in Italy. Those poor Italian bastards. Soaked to the bone and crying because they accidentally locked themselves out of the house.
In Nova Scotia, grocery stores are not supposed to be open on Sundays, see. But lately they’ve been going through loopholes that let smaller stores open and even more lately the bigger stores have been opening parts of their stores. I don’t know if the Superstore by me is going to be open, but if it is, I’m going to complain that the cannibalism section isn’t open. If they say they don’t have a cannibalism section, I’ll call them racist. That’s why I support Sunday shopping.
Actually, I probably won’t even check if the Superstore is open tomorrow. I’ll probably sleep instead.
